Hiwa Strengths: Clifton Strengths coaching and development
Ko koe te taonga. He ara o kaha. You are the treasure, your strengths are the path.
Your strengths have always been part of you. Hiwa Strengths helps individuals, leaders and teams understand their natural talents and learn how to apply them with intention, confidence and mana.
He aha a CliftonStrengths - What is CliftonStrengths?
CliftonStrengths is a globally recognised strengths assessment developed by Gallup. Rather than focusing on weaknesses, it identifies the natural patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that make you uniquely effective.
CliftonStrengths provides a powerful framework for understanding our natural talents. At Hiwa, we explore those strengths within a broader understanding of who we are, how we relate to others and what gives us purpose.
We integrate CliftonStrengths with te ao Māori frameworks to create a strengths journey that is both evidence-based and culturally grounded.
Why start with Strengths?
We spend a lot of time being told what we need to improve. A strengths-based approach starts somewhere different: with what is already there.
When you understand your natural strengths, you can begin to use them more intentionally, in the way you lead, communicate, work with others and navigate challenges.
🧭 Lead authentically
Move beyond generic leadership models and develop a leadership approach that works with your natural strengths.
🤝🏽Strengthen relationships
Understand your own strengths and appreciate the different strengths others bring to a team.
🌿 Focus your energy
Invest your time and energy where your strengths can create the greatest impact.
Your strengths aren't something you need to find. They're something you need to understand.
💬 Communicate with intention
Understand how your strengths shape the way you communicate and how others may experience things differently.
✨ Build confidence
Recognise what you naturally do well and develop greater confidence in the value you bring.
What to expect
From discovering your strengths to putting them into action
Your CliftonStrengths journey isn't just about receiving a report and learning the names of your Top 5 strengths. It's about understanding what your strengths mean, recognising how they show up in your life and intentionally using them to move towards what matters to you.
-
Discover what makes you naturally you.
Your CliftonStrengths assessment identifies your dominant themes of talent. Together, we'll explore what those themes mean and begin to recognise the patterns that have been part of you all along.
-
Recognise and own your strengths.
Understanding a strength is one thing. Seeing it in yourself is another. We'll explore where your strengths have helped you succeed, how they show up in your relationships and work, and how you can appreciate the unique contribution you bring.
Grounded in te ao Māori, these conversations explore strengths through the lenses of mana, mauri and whakapapa.
-
Put your strengths to work.
Your strengths become most powerful when you intentionally apply them. We'll identify practical ways to use your strengths towards your goals, challenges, relationships and aspirations.
For teams, this includes understanding how strengths work together to build collective capability.
-
Turn your strengths into an ongoing practice.
Your strengths are not something you discover once and put on a shelf. Through ongoing coaching and reflection, I'll support you to apply your strengths to real challenges, relationships, leadership and the goals that matter to you.
Why Hiwa?
More than an assessment. A strengths journey grounded in who you are.
CliftonStrengths gives you a powerful framework for understanding your natural talents. At Hiwa Collective, we take that insight further.
We combine CliftonStrengths with professional coaching, leadership development and a te ao Māori perspective to create a strengths experience that is practical, personal and grounded in context.
Evidence-based
CliftonStrengths is a globally recognised strengths assessment developed by Gallup, providing an established framework for understanding patterns of talent and behaviour.
Culturally grounded
We bring strengths into conversation with te ao Māori, creating space to explore identity, relationships, mana, mauri and what meaningful success looks like for you.
Coaching-led
Your results are the beginning of the conversation, not the end. We help you understand what your strengths look like in practice and how to intentionally apply them.
Practical
The goal isn't simply to know your Top 5. It's to understand what to do with that knowledge - in your leadership, work, relationships and everyday decisions.
Designed around you
There is no generic strengths journey. Your goals, context and aspirations shape how we work together.
Your strengths are already there. The opportunity is learning how to use them with intention.
